Gem State Association of Neonatal Nurses Meeting Minutes October 17, 2005
Attendees: Sue Norris, Sue Cheeseman, Kim Moerles, Karen Egli.
Minutes from September were approved and accepted.
Treasurer’s Report: Cheri Beaumont was contacted by phone to report the organization has approx. $600.00 in the account. Sue N. communicated that the annual bill for the mailbox needed to be subtracted from that for the amount of $120.00.
Chris Padilla will be contacted for update on outstanding dues for 2005. Cheri B. Sue N., and Donna need to meet to transfer financial responsibilities to current officers.
Committee reports:
Bylaws – The revisions discussed in Sept. meeting to be signed by secretary.
Communication – Web site continues to be developed. Can be accessed at http://www.tonybroderick.com look for link to GSANN site. Charge for this site to be set up to GSANN account. What to be included in site was discussed and will be emailed to Tony by Sue C.
Kim King to check with distant members for address updates and to inform them re: the website and the next educational offering.
Legislative – No report
Program – Char Crichton will be presenting on Nov 7th. The topic is Neonatal Seizures. Flyers will be emailed or sent to the area hospitals. Refreshments will be served including petite sandwiches and cider. Members will be contacted re: providing other treats.
Membership – As mentioned above, efforts will be made to connect with our members that live outside of the Boise area, not only for their updates, but to communicate the information about the website and let them know that the program on Nov 7th will be done on V-tel at selected sites.
Fund raising – Gift baskets were discussed. Three baskets will be created and the themes are Spa, Winter Fun, and New Year’s Baskets. Items to be included were brainstormed. Places to contact for donations will be further generated by Sue N. and GSANN members will be contacted for their help.
Service Project: Ronald McDonald treats/food donation box will be redecorated and put out for the Fall. It was suggested that the times when the donations will be delivered be posted so people could plan their donation and be aware that it is an ongoing project.
New Business – NANN conference was well attended and there is anticipation of more support of the chapters from the national organization.
